Design: Asus ZenBook Pro Duo UX581 Review
It’s been standard that laptops went to widescreen this year and now getting many tweaks. This Asus Zenbook Pro Duo is one of them, it comes with dual 4K screens on the lid and one on the base. The design of this machine is different than the others. It has created its own flagship line.
The Zenbook Pro Duo is as professional as the flagship laptops like Macbooks or XPS. It just has more power in it, can be used as a brilliant editor machine just because of touch screens. The ZenBook pro duo has a 14-inch diagonal size 3840 x 1100 resolution display placed above the keyboard on the pad. The keyboard layout is just similar to ROG Zephyrus gaming laptop but that’s strange.
The ScreenPad plus gives extra bonus for the content creators. Also, the viewing angles on this machine are excellent because of the OLED panel. As for the display part, it deserves a medal.
Performance: Asus ZenBook Pro Duo UX581 Review
Asus has two options for pro-people with the ZenBook Pro Duo UX581. The enthusiasts can adopt the option for the hexa-core i7-9750H or the unlocked octa-core i9-9980HK with the 16GB and 32GB with the DDR4-2666 RAM. The primary 4K UHD OLED is touchscreen as well as the secondary ScreenPad plus is also a touch screen. It is powered by the GeForce RTX 2060 GPU.
The RTX 2060 is quite sufficient for the heavy usage though for anything that you throw on it. If you are switching from 8th gen to this 9th gen then you will notice 17% and 25% faster performance then the previous generation.
Connectivity: Asus ZenBook Pro Duo UX581 Review
As per connectivity part, it comes with the latest WiFi; Intel Wi-Fi 6 with Gig+ performance (802.11ax). It also comes with the latest Bluetooth 5 for quick wireless connections.
On the left side, there is an AC adapter, HDMI 2.0, USB 3.1 Type-A Gen. 2 which makes there are total 4 ports.
On the right, there are USB Type-C, Thunderbolt 3, 3.5 mm combo audio, USB 3.1 Type-A Gen. 2 which makes them total 4 ports.
There are speakers on the front below side of the laptop.
Keyboard: Asus ZenBook Pro Duo UX581
The keyboard on the laptop is inspired by the original Zephyrus laptop. The key travel distance is not universal but that’s okay if you keep tying on this laptop. The elevations help a lot while typing on this keyboard. There is a key to toggle fan mode, to turn on the second display with the power button. Just be sure while pressing the toggles.
Touchpad: Asus ZenBook Pro Duo UX581
The touchpad is right there on the right of the keyboard. It is not a great touchpad, we would always prefer an external mouse for the work. The integrated mouse is quiet in the clatter and produces slow feedback. Plus, you can use the touchpad as the Numpad by activating from the key.
